Wow, "Who Am I" is such an ageless question that we all find ourselves pondering! I've dedicated a huge part of my life to unraveling this mystery. In the eyes of God, we're all His beloved children. It's such a simple yet profound idea, but how do we align this with the complexities of today's world? I'm eager to dive deeper into this through my writing and research, and I can't wait to share it with you all!
My name is Monique. I am blessed with a wonderful husband, a lovely daughter currently in college, and a dog named J.D. (Jack Daniels). I worked in the field of taxation for 35 years, achieving success by most standards.
I've been retired for 2 years. In retirement, I've spent a lot of time researching, reading, and reflecting, and I've decided it's time to explore my true self and share that journey here.
Primarily, I have realized that I am a Child of God. I recognize that the truest and most authentic part of my identity is just that. Once I understood this, my entire perspective on the world shifted. I now view everyone as a Child of God. We are all flawed and imperfect, yet we are all God's children, even those who have committed terrible and seemingly unforgivable acts.
I believe that Jesus is my Lord and Savior, and I wish to share the joy this brings me with everyone. Writing this down feels both strange and therapeutic! Years ago, I might have thought, "Be cautious, you're going too far and sounding like a Jesus Freak." Now, I proudly accept being a Jesus freak, and I love that song. If you haven't heard it, give it a listen. I enjoy the version by the artist DC Talk.
The main aim of creating this web page is to document, share, and commemorate my spiritual journey. I am certain I want to pursue this because I feel God has been urging me to write. This has been a persistent nudge throughout my life. I've kept journals and written some short stories and poems, which are scattered across various writing binders. My organization has been quite chaotic and I am hoping this space will help.
Regarding this space, I aim for it to be interesting and inspiring for my audience, which currently includes my family and very close friends. I have no interest in monetizing this. It's solely for sharing scripture, reflections, and faith stories. I welcome feedback on everything I post. For instance, what are your thoughts on the scripture passages and commentary I share? How did they make you feel? What did you find relatable? If I share a personal story of faith, do you have one you can share? I truly want this to be interactive. We can all grow in our faith by sharing.
